Poems - The Breath of Prayer

The Breath of Prayer

“You shall winnow them and the wind shall carry them away,
and the tempest shall scatter them.
And you shall rejoice in the Lord;
in the Holy One of Israel you shall glory.”
Isaiah 41:16

“And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. 23 Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Mark 11:22-24

Verse 1
Fan them with the breath of prayer
‘Tis God’s word to thee:
Thresher of the mountains, thou,
Take the victory

Verse 2 Fan them with the breath of prayer,
Mountains though they be;
And God’s wind the heights shall tear,
Scattering them for thee

Verse 3 Fan them with the breath of prayer;
E’en the hills shall be
but as chaff, as thou dost dare
Order them to flee.

Verse 4
Fan them with the breath of prayer
Born at Calvary;
Thresh the mountains in His Name,
Claim His victory.
